My Goals & Dreams for 2016

So here they are...my goals for this current phase of my life. And this is what I'm feeling about 2016 so far: It feels exciting. I feel hope. It feels rewarding. It's fulfilling. I feel grateful to feel passionate about something and I don't take that for granted. I feel that so many things are possible. There is not enough time in one year.

Most of all, it feels liberating; miraculous, even. My life doesn't look AT ALL like I had planned. But I'm thankful it still feels beautiful. I'm thankful I feel a purpose.

My Current Dreams, Plans, & Goals:

Visit India - stay in an Ashram
Learn more about Kundalini Yoga

Health Plans:

Get mercury amalgams removed with a bio dentist

Do more acts of service and kindness for people in our neighborhood.
Seek out organizations I align with and support them.

Personal Growth:

Travel Plans:

Financial Goals:

Get in a position to eventually buy a Brownstone (still the dream)

See Hamilton on Broadway

From a woman trying to make the most of her life...

Have you done any of these things? I'd love to hear any insights or recommendations. XOXO

For the month of January, mentoring sessions with Danny & I are 2-for-1.
Book a session HERE.

  1. It would be amazing to experience meditations led by either Danny or you! All the best for 2016!

    1. Awesome! We really want to make it happen. We need to hire a composer to help with some background music. I so want to figure this out as Danny's meditations are seriously AMAZING. He leads them at all the retreats and also during our mentoring sessions.

  2. What a great way to break down the year ahead! Meditations led by you two would be awesome!

    All the best this year!

    Take care,
    C | http://atlantic-c.blogspot.ca/

  3. Love ALL of these but especially the idea of a get together with retreat alumni :)

  4. Tell us more about what you are looking for in a speaking coach and how one goes about finding a speaking coach. You have piqued my interest...

    1. :) Well, I've found myself public speaking more and more at events, retreats, interviews, etc. And I've come so far (!) in my ability to speak, but I know there's more levels to reach and I want to go for it. I'm looking for someone who could help me improve my techniques. For starters, I'd like to say fewer "ums". :) And I'd like to deliver my story and my message in even more dynamic, engaging ways. I'd like to narrow down my very best speaking points - and be more skilled at delivering those powerfully, with phrases that people will remember. Of course, authenticity is the #1 goal of mine. But I know I could channel that authenticity into a more effective speech.

For a coach, I've been looking to an entrepreneurial network that I'm a part of. So far, I've been recommended to these speaking coaches: Chantelle Adams, Iisha Coco Graham, and Laura Huxley. Supposedly they're all amazing. I will likely work with one of them in the coming months to prepare for some classes we're going to be recording. I'll have to decide which one to use!

  5. Love this list! The range of your dreams and goals is inspiring to see. Definitely going to share this with my boyfriend. One of our goals is to plan our lives more carefully-- I think this will be right up our alley! :)

  6. Hello,

We are also thinking of doing chelation. Do you have a chelation doctor in Cuenca? If so, do you mind sharing the contact information?

Also, I know of a biological dentist in Cuenca. His name is Dr. Mario Sanchez. A friend of mine has seen him recently to remove a root canal and mercury fillings and has had a good experience with this. Let me know if you want his contact information.

    1. Certainly! I am going to use Grace Ordoñez. I had previously been to Mario Sanchez (for cleanings) and he's wonderful! We really like him so much - and he uses safe dental materials, no fluoride, etc. However, I learned more about mercury removal and learned that he does not actually have the proper equipment required for the safest removal of mercury. He says he does safe removals. But apparently it's impossible as he doesn't have the correct masks, vents, etc. I was told by two holistic practitioners in Cuenca that no dentist here had the equipment. So they consulted with Grace, who is one of the most popular dentists among expats, and she just had the equipment sent from abroad. She'll be taking appointments for the removals I believe in February. Good luck!! I hope it all works out for you.

  7. Oh Mara, thanks for these headings! They are so useful for my own goal setting- just like you I try to set 1-3 goals in each area of my life each year... but I didn't have such good headings, excited to borrow these :)

    1. Oh, good! I can tell you're a goal setting nerd like me. :) haha. XO

    2. Other categories I thought of, but didn't write here: Academic/Education Goals, Cooking Goals (dishes to make), Home Plans (improvements, etc.), Creative Endeavors, Parenthood Plans.

  8. Hi Mara!
I love your blog so much and I really look up to you and Danny. I've appreciated all of your posts on spiritual enlightenment, especially your post of "shifting" away from Mormonism. I recently bought A Course on Miracles after hearing about it from a friend. I am a (newly) practicing Christian, and while much of what I read in ACOM resonated with me, I also saw a lot of contradiction to the Bible, in which I very much believe. I believe in the atonement of Christ, but I also see so much wisdom from other world views and teachings. I'd love to hear your thoughts about marrying multiple perspectives. I really do believe guilt is a useless emotion, but I can't help but feel that sometimes. Anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts...especially because two of my favorites books came from reading your blog (Women's Bodies Women's Wisdom & True Love).

    Kind Regards,

  9. ACIM = Amazing. Tennis lessons = Fun. What is a Love Shop?
