Love Right Now Is…

Love right now is…

A husband who makes Mexican black beans and fish tacos like he owned a restaurant.
A wife who sometimes doesn’t want to sleep because it’s more fun to be awake together.
A husband who gets up at 5:45 am to buy the best organic tomatoes at the market before they’re gone.
A wife who sees her husband across the room and still feels giddy.
A husband who reaches out to hold hands each day while walking our pup.
A wife who melts to see him be so dang loving with our little furry girl.
A husband who never, ever, ever makes me feel dumb – not even once.
A wife who can’t wait to see her husband each morning. Even though I see him everyday.
A husband who runs a green smoothie bar in our kitchen.
A wife who thanks her husband profusely for being so good to her.
A husband who smiles. A lot.
A wife who cuddles. A lot.
A furry girl who can’t get enough of us both.

This is our little family of 3.

What is love feeling like to you today

It is my hope that you have some love in your life that you can feel and identify – no matter what stage of life you are in. It’s so powerful to recognize it and to seek out the good. When I was single, love was my Brooklyn littles drawing me pictures that I hung on my wall. It was my neighbors who asked about my life. It was my parents who wanted to keep me company by phone. At other times during my first marriage, it was me laying in bed feeling rejected with a sting in my heart and feeling pain that no one knew about – and trying with all my might to love myself and see worth in myself, exactly as I was.

Perfect post for a Monday morning! Love at our house this morning was my husband waking up 45 minutes early before work to help our 8 year old finish her homework from the weekend.

I just posted a minute ago. But I just wanted to tell you guys that I read your blog everyday. I love it and feel uplifted. I have never commented before…I don't have a blog and always thought that you had to have one to make a comment. .. but I can make one using anonymous. I have been on a journey of loving who I am … no matter my weight. ( although I REALLY want to be skinnnny) anyway, I've lost 24 lbs so far but am happy with being patient and I have THE BEST most loving husband in the world….it's learning to love my body during the transition that has been the hard part. ramble end. 🙂

Your blog has been a favorite of mine for about 9 months now. I found it last summer when I was really having a hard time and I read every post you had at the time. You are truly an inspiration and an angel sent from heaven. Thank you for being so open about your feelings. Sometimes I have a hard time because I feel like bloggers put on a face for their audience. I have found that you are able to be real and honest and still upbeat. It is refreshing. Keep doing what you're doing!!! 🙂 Ps–I love your list. I plan to make one about me and my husband now.

Love is a husband who comes home at 10pm from being at work for 16 hours and cleans the house while I sleep because I'm too tired from taking care of children all day to do it myself.

Amazing. Seriously. That is incredible dedication and support and service on both of your parts. Thanks for sharing this slice of your life.

Love is a husband who is willing to have hard conversations.
Love is a wife who is pursuing forgiveness.
Love is owning my part in conflict.
Love is facing a difficult therapy appointment in an effort to heal.
Love is playing tic-tac-toe with a four year old for the hundredth time.
Love is asking questions and really hearing the answers.

Dang. Dear Jane, this one just gets you deep. This kind of love – the kind that is present in the face of conflict – is perhaps the most triumphant, the most sanctifying. Thank you for sharing this powerful glimpse. Thank you for all the love you are working to give and receive. Much love I send to you, M

Love is making a pair of leprechaun pants and glueing them to the patio so your son thinks he caught a leprechaun in the trap he made and surrounded with glue stick. It's the little things!

Love is finding each other's quirks endearing. Love is warm laughter that turns failures into shared strengths. Love is finding another vase for the roadside daffodils because the littlest just keeps finding more …

    Love the post, Mara.

Soooo darn cute. Daffodils in vases? I'm dying. And thanks for all your beautiful words.
