This post has been a year in the making! Last year, a day or two after St. Patrick’s Day, I was thinking about how much fun my work’s Annual Limerick Contest was…and that maybe I should try writing one for the blog.
And that’s when inspiration hit me and this beauty appeared in my mind:
There once was a blog about love
Where Mara wrote all she could think of
About courage and grace
In life’s trials you face
There’s nothing more she’d rather speak of
But alas…it was too late to post and so it sat as a note on my iPhone that I completely forgot about until last Friday when the thought occurred to me that St. Patrick’s Day was around the corner. You have no idea how happy I am to finally share it with you. And I’d be even happier to read your own Love Limericks!
Do you guys want to join in on writing an Annual Limerick?!
If so, let the creative juices flow, spend a few minutes coming up with something clever, and share it with the rest of us in the comments. If you have kids and they want to give it a try, too, we’d be thrilled. (Refresh your memory about limericks here
If you want to see other holiday related love poetry on our blog, check out the 14 “Come Hither Haiku” that Koseli Cummings wrote for Valentines Day (they are sexy love tips in 17 syllables!) And Mara even wrote her own love Haiku in the comments of that post (see here.)
