Where Did You Get That?

This is my latest find - this woven Aztec tote bag. A friend had this bag - looking as stylish as ever, with her two gorgeous kids and a newborn in a sling.  She always, always pulls off good style.  And part of the brilliance is this: when I asked her, "Where did you get that?" she said, "Oh, Target!" :)  She went on to say that many people have given her compliments on it. That's something. And, she said for her it's all in the straps...if the straps are flat, like these, they lay so much better and feel much more comfortable on the shoulder.  Well, there you have it...a really cute bag that seems perfect for Fall.  I totally want one.  $24.99

And because I got carried away looking at other woven bags, here are a few more that I love...

Vintage Turkish kilim tapestry carpet bag from E-bay.

Woven toquilla straw tote from Sensi Studio.

Vintage Guatamalan bag from Etsy.

 Woven clutch from Esty.

Vintage Guatamalan Serape bag from Etsy.

Embroidered Guatamalan pouch from Etsy.

  1. Oh these designs are so great! I love the last Guatamalan bag especially.

But what I really wanted to thank you for is the Deodomom recommendation! I am so glad that you mentioned this product. I was super excited to try it out and it has been working better than I expected. The best part, is that it is so much friendlier to my shirts. I even bought a new white t-shirt to celebrate the end to those awful stains (which you wrote about a long time ago!) :)
    Thank you!

  2. Love the bags! With 4 little ones, I'm always in need of a stylish bag!

  3. ooooh love the straw one ... looks like they could hold a lot too.

  4. Although it isn't a woven tote, I'm a little obsessed with my cheeky bag from West Elm. Perfect for the farmer's market, right?

  5. I was just at Target, how did I miss that cute bag?! Thanks for sharing that great find. :)

  6. I'm convinced that THE perfect bag does not exist. I keep trying and found one I LOVED (in yellow!) in Denver this summer, but it was so cheaply made the strap broke 2 weeks ago. I was heartbroken!

A quick trip found something I'm tentatively happy with. We'll see how it goes!

  7. I love Target…..Perfect for accessories like this for personal and home

  8. I love that Target bag. I'm always on the hunt for a good bag.

  9. Hi Mara,

    Check these bags out................http://www.no41.org/

I live in NZ and recently bought one of these bags and I can't recommend them enough. They are made by orphans in Rwanda and each bag supports one child with school lunches for one year!!! How cool is that.
The bags themselves are big and stylish and after purchase arrived really quick.
What a great cause to support.

  10. Wow superb hand bags collection. I like this type bag. These are good for my casual users.

  11. What a great bag! With three young daughters, I am always on the hunt for a great bag for holding all their "treasures" :)

  12. That Target bag is super cute. I also like that it seems to have synthetic handles, which is important to me as I'm a vegetarian and try to avoid leather products. Thanks!

  13. I have 3 of totes from Dash + Albert. They are great. I teach Seminary and one is always packed full and heavy but the tote takes all I can give it. Great for the beach too. Deb

  14. Nice hand bags collection for casual usages. I like these bags for my college usages.

  15. Yes! Id seen this bag, or a similar Target one, on the lovely Sydney of the blog, The Daybook. Target never ceases to impress me. :-)

  16. Thanks for sharing your great finds! I love how resourcefully you use eBay. Also, it's GuatEmalan (the country is spelled GuatEmala), not GuatAmalan . ;)

  17. yes, yes, yes, i've been dying over the woven bag thing lately. also, there are some great ones at cost plus world market. gah, i want them all.

p.s. best of luck on your next IVF!
