Working From the Park

Every once in awhile on a late Friday afternoon, Danny and I will head to the park to finish up our day.  I guess that means working on responding to emails (and for me, maybe a little New York Magazinewhich is my most favorite magazine ever.  ðŸ™‚
And, we take our favorite park chairs by Crazy Creek.  These things are sooooo, SO comfy.
Last year Danny said we really needed to buy these.  He had them before and knew they were great. And yep, they are. They totally change the park experience.

You feel like a kid in these things cause you can just rock back and forth.  It’s kind of ridiculous how fun they are.  ðŸ™‚

OK, and the PANTS.  Hello.  Kate Spade Saturday.  So perfect for Spring/Summer.

Do you guys ever have a way of meeting up during work hours?  (extra points for nooners.  ðŸ™‚ 🙂

P.S.  I know someone who used to sneak out of work and meet his wife at the movies every Friday afternoon, which always seemed SO fun.  He owned the company, so I guess that comes with perks.  🙂

My husband and I love to meet up for lunch downtown. Sometimes I bring a picnic, but usually we just grab something quick to eat outside at the waterfront.

So fun!! It's so worth it to make it happen.

My husband is a prosecutor and maybe one day wants to become a judge. He always jokes about "lunch dates" in his chambers… hahaha!!

you are what i picture when i think "kate spade" 🙂

my husband usually has different weekend days than me, so lunch dates are something we look forward to. the other day i made us salads and then we ate ice cream before i had to go back to the office.

Lucky us, my husband and I both work at the same place so we spend lunch together everyday! I mean, aren't we super spoiled? When we move on to other things in life I just know we will look back on this time so fondly.

      wow – what a dream…
I love the idea of families working together. Danny and I both work from home, which I love so much. I wouldn't want it any other way.

HI Mara, I'd love to know more when you say 'you wouldn't want it any other way' do you mean to say you like to always be by Danny's side? I suppose I'm having attachment issues atm, so I'm wondering what you deem healthy (but also your general preference here seems to match mine)

Hi Sarah – such a good question. So, I just love being with Danny. I never get tired of being with him and just love that we get to spend more time together than most traditional working couples. I know everyone is different and some like extra space and personal time, which is ok, too. However, for me, this is the key: if I'm not with Danny due to work, meetings, or short term travel, I'm OK, too, and just go about my day. I think if being away from him held me back in some way or made me feel insecure/bored/unhappy, it might be something to consider working on as that wouldn't be a good/healthy situation for either of us.

Thanks for the reply! I'm ok on my own, but sometimes doubts creep in (we're not living together or married). Maybe it's not knowing when we'll next see one another. Or thinking he's got free time, why aren't we spending it together. Anyhow, I need to work on this, for sure!

I have a style question! What do you wear when the girls go out for a night? I am a Mormon too, so I can't wear any of the cute dresses my friends wear. But I don't want to feel out of place! Any thoughts?

In breaks between classes my partner once brought me a freshly packed lunch (salad sammich and sponge cake) does that count?

Ah, park dates! Those chairs look great — ever since you first posted about them I've wanted to get some.

My husband has Mondays off, while I work. Sometimes I'll come home from work and he'll have made me lunch and we just connect mid-day. It's the best, and he's the sweetest knowing I'm working and he's relaxing. 🙂

Great pants, by the way. You are so pretty and wear them well!

Awww i love working in the park, but my thoughts of getting some work done always fly away because I'm uncomfortable. These chairs look so comfy and cute! Also, I totally indulged in a little Kate Spade Saturday myself!! I was having a bad day at work, so marched down the street and did a little Kate Spade window shopping. One hour later and a lovely blue dress appeared at my door! Bad day became good day 🙂
