Our Good Luck Fairy

I just had to share with you the sweetest thing that came our way…
On the day of the embryo transfer, we received this little doll in the mail.
It was sent by the daughter of one of our blog readers. The little girl made this yellow (!) fairy doll, hoping it would bring us good luck for the IVF. She later added a scarf after seeing that I recently posted about a scarf.  Can you even believe the sweetness?!?  Oh my goodness, we just love it so much.
Mary, thank you, thank you, thank you!! Your little doll and your kindness still have us smiling from ear to ear.  🙂
P.S.  I am putting together a Natural Beauty Night here in Brooklyn! I’m so excited about it.  I’ve been testing products for months now to find the very best ones…and pretty soon I’ll be sharing all my findings on the blog.  🙂  Fun stuff ahead.

That's the sweetest thing. What an adorable little fairy! Thinking of you all this week and sending many positive vibes.

What fun- I did a beauty night a few years ago with my girlfriends and it was a blast. I'm now into making a bunch of homemade stuff and its so fun!

Regarding your previous post (only not wanting to enter the giveaway) – I assume you're aware of the controversy surrounding Stevia and fertility? I have two friends who were not able to get pregnant until they stopped using it. Not saying that it's necessarily causal, but it'd be an easy thing to stop using it at least during your IVF. Not wanting to be pushy or nosey, just wanting to make sure you're aware of the potential issue there. Best of Luck!

Em – so interesting. I wasn't aware of this! Thank you for sharing. Luckily we hardly use it – I've used it hear and there to make lemonade. But thanks so much for writing in – it's worth checking into.

I read the blog below and it was about agave, not stevia. Not sure if it makes a difference or anything. Anyway, I'm very excited for you. I can't wait to hear if you are pregnant! Either way I know your family will grow in the way it is meant to.

Here's a post (long-ish) where one of my aforementioned friends details her experience with Stevia. (about 1/2 way down) http://jamesandmartha.wordpress.com/2010/02/24/2009-remembrance/

What are you doing with yourself to keep busy? I know I'd probably stay home all week and pee on a stick every chance I got! Hoping good things for you both!

haha! Well, I'm very busy every single day. I don't have to do anything different than what I already do. But you know -it's kind of unique maybe but we really don't get nervous or anxious about knowing if I'm pregnant. I sure used to! Oh my, yes! (the first year – so long ago.) But after 9 years I just don't have any anxiety. I've had soooo many periods come – as in every single month since I started this journey – so well, I'm used to it happening. And this month surprisingly doesn't feel too different in that way. I know the chances are better than they have ever been. But I also know very well that anything can happen and a long time ago we learned to be at peace no matter what the outcomes. So it's just business as normal! (aside from continuing the meds). And if it doesn't work, well – we have some other amazing/exciting life plans that we might pursue as we await adoption. So either outcome will be ok in the end. And thanks for your sweet note!

    Dear Mara,
I stumbled across your blog just over a year ago. I have read it daily since! I adore you and Danny and all the positive you have to give and share with whomever happens to cross your path. My husband and I have been married 10 years and through 6 assignments from the US Army we find ourselves currently serving in Vicenza Italy. Saturday morning as we were going through the hustle and bustle of the weekend, preparing for the sabbath, three kids wondering "what are we gonna do today?", i felt inspired to stop and say prayer for you and your embryo transfer that would happen that day. Fast forward to Wednesday night in Italy, the kids are tucked in bed, and husband and I are having some pillow time, talking about the day, tomorrow's plans, etc. I opened your blog to catch up, and start bawling as I read your post about the transfer "events". My husband was a little confused, that I am crying for someone I have never met. And was I crying happy or sad tears? I am so touched by you, Danny, your blog, and everything you do to share love and learning so freely. Thank you for being such a courageous example of honesty, security, kindness and love! And if you ever find yourselves in Italy, You already have a friend that would love to meet and maybe help you in some small way!

Sending lots of love and good baby making vibes your way this week. I appreciate your vulnerability in sharing your story. The love you two share is very beautiful.

P.S. I can't wait to see your natural beauty recommendations. All of my face care is organic, etc., but I'm having a hard time with make-up options. Looking forward to it.

Just found your blog and am catching up on everything. I am also in an infertility struggle. Looks like I was meant to find your blog because we had our IUI done on Monday on the same day as your IVF and are now in the 2 week wait. I hope we both end up with some little miracles!!!
