  1. hehe I get called 'honey bunny carrot eater' and 'love'... I tend to use 'love' and say stuff like 'ahh your a sweetie' or 'spunky monkey' ... yeah so you can tell we muck around with fun names a bit.

  2. My boyfriend calls me Tigger (from Winnie the Pooh :), Honey and Cat. Even when he called my name my heart skipped a beat! I just love it when he says either my name or my pet name. I love it the most when he yelled "Tigger!" to me across the hallway.

  4. My best friend used to call me "Teddy" as in Teddybear. It still brings a smile to my face :)

  5. My ex (who I'm still friends with) called and continues to call me Pickle. Which I ironic because I hate pickles.

  6. My husband and I call each other Honey Bunny. This started sometime when we were dating. In fact, when he calls me by my first name, I know it's about something serious. Or we're in public.

Also, when i express (fake) indignation about something silly: "Honey Buns!" and he replies immediately, "Babe!" My family imitates the exchange all the time. After I say "Honey Buns," everyone (with my husband yells) "Babe!" :)

  7. Hubby and I both served missions in Germany (at different times - gotta clarify haha). He calls me "Schatz" which means Treasure. What's not to love? :)

  8. We call each other Mashugana or shuga. In yiddish it means silly or crazy. In our house it means love!

  9. That's cute. My husband is German, so that leads to some pretty unique nicknames sometimes. He likes call me "hun'sn" - like honey - or "babes'n" - like babe.

  10. The hubs calls me dovetail. It started as love dove, became dove, then dovey and now dovetail. An ever evolving term of endearment. It makes me giggle every time.

  12. My parents have always called me "Marsey-Bearsy" and my husband picked up on it - but shortened it to just "Marsey-Bear" or "Marsey"

And just to be silly - my mom and I do this thing when we call each other from the musical Bye Bye Birdie (from the song "Telephone Hour")

    Mom: Hiiiiii, Marsey!
    Me: Hiiiii, Mommsy!
Together: What's the story, Morning Glory? What's the word, hummingbird?

And then we giggle. I've done it at work without even thinking about it much to the amusement of my co-workers.

  14. Just "Gorgeous" or "Beautiful." My dad picked up "gorgeous" in high school, and thereafter I looked for a guy who would use it. I also prefer to use "love" and "babe."

Not so romantic, but on family love: Gorgeous was part of a family group of names: Strong, Creative, Brilliant, Gorgeous, and Brave. I love that my parents and just us younger siblings get our own special thing.

  18. He calls me sweetie (so it feels weird when he uses my 'real' name) and I call him 'hon' and less often darling and chicken (?!!?) all as endearment. he didn't use to call me anything, but I got right into it. I told him I didn't like him using my proper name, so he started on sweetie and I absolutely LOVE it.

he call his colleague Hunny bunny - but there's no threat there!

  22. This post made me chuckle. My brother and I would sing that song to each other at random times just to make each other laugh.

As for pet names, Husband and I call each other "my love."

  23. My husband calls me "candy pants". Don't ask why - I don't even think he knows where it came from. It's hilarious though.

  26. Mine calls me "Most." It came from an argument in which we were trying to decide who loved the other more. I won by saying "Well, I love you most!" He replied....fine Miss Most. "Most" just stuck after that.

  27. I call my husband many names that start with B. Bunny is the most popular...Bear, Bun, Butter. It's quite entertaining. Most bunny is the one that has stuck. He seems to be a fan, but not so much in public. Teehehe One day I said (in public), "Thank you Bunny", and he responded in a slow deep voice, "Umm..you're welcome Rabbit". We died laughing about this for hours!!! And the names have seemed to stick!

  28. These are so cute! My husband calls me "Skipper" - I think it started from a joke about Barbie's younger sister.

We also call each other "sweetheart" and just have since we were dating. I love it when he calls me "Janie" sometimes too.

  29. We call each other babyhead. It came from when we were dating, but neither of us can quite remember why or how it came about - I think it had to do with me being such a crier/being sentimental/hyper emotional :) We don't use it as much now, but when we do it always makes me blush and it makes him softer and he gets a little grin.

But I am LOVING the comments! Shuga and Schatz are the best! Would love to see if they'll fit in our relationship if you don't mind us borrowing...

  31. Almost all Japanese Pet names for girls furry friend brands usually are centered off a number of stuff that usually are rich in the culture for example particular symbolism, particular text, and amazing regions of the particular property, amazing blossoms and famous people throughout Japanese people historical past.

  32. I grew up in an environment where nicknames and pet names were common place. My biologically mother used to call me blueberry, blueberry muffin, muffin since I'm sweet and was born a shade of blue. My biologically Father called me similar mostly after sweet things like honey, my older brother called me by nicknames like ghost since I unintentionally scare people sometimes. My childhood best friend who is a female too, calls me bestie, bff, sister and soul mate in a non LGBT way. I usually call her my sister or her name with kin at the end or her name and chan or San added at the end. My male best friend calls me all sorts of nicknames and pet names which makes me embarrassed. My partner used to call me by the same names though now calls me love, sweetie & my name with bear at the end of it.

  34. Me and my bf of 1 year started calling each other "butthead" when we first started dating before we made things official.. Once we got comfortable I'd call him "fuzzy wuzzy,, my bear, instead of honey buns I call him sesame buns lol..
He calls me his monkey, queen, honey buns, his everything.
I really think pet names happen naturally, ladies don't get offended if they come up with something dumb lol I think its a funny touch to any relationship!!
