Happy 4th of July!

This year I’ll be out West for the 4th of July, but this is what 4th of July normally looks like in Brooklyn…..

(for the best tacos ever, followed by fresh watermelon juice & the best horchata we’ve ever had.)

What will you be up to this 4th of July?

Hope you all have a safe and wonderful holiday!

Oh what fun! Those fireworks look awesome!! Have fun in Utah! I just returned from there two weeks ago. Visiting my sister. It was loads of fun. Hadn't been to Utah in 8 and half years before that…and that was when I served my mission. Yes i served my mission in Salt Lake….not temple sqaure, but Park City and parts of Salt Lake. It was a wonderful 18 months. Happy Fourth of July!! We plan on doing a Colonial Dinner by Candle light and read a kids book explaining the American Revolution for the kiddies. Should be fun!!

I absolutely love your blog! Just found it last week and have been loving reading it from the very beginning (I'm only on April 2012 and can't wait to catch all the way up to the present – it's killin' me!). I have been inspired and motivated beyond belief! Thank you! I read this just today and thought of you guys . . . . "We have implanted in our souls a desire to be free. The Lord understood this when He granted us our mortal probation. With that freedom, however, comes accountability. We are instructed not to idle away our time nor bury our talents and not use them. We are expected to make our lives better through our own initiatives and efforts." (L. Tom Perry, Youth of the Noble Birthright, Ensign, November 1998). What an appropriate thing to think about today! What a blessing and privilege it is to be able to choose! But with that comes such great responsibility. I have felt empowered as I have considered so much of your advice and have been reminded (in a serious way!)of the power of personal choice. I am the one who can choose to make my life (and by default, all the lives of those around me) better! In fact, I am expected to. I hadn't really thought of it that way.
