Another Tip for Husbands and Wives

Well, here I go again with another hot little tip for husbands and wives.  Why not, right?  πŸ™‚

It starts with a story….

So I got home the other day…and walked in to a quiet house.  I said, “Honey?”  No answer.  I got myself a slice of chocolate tart (made with gluten free ginger snaps from Trader Joe’s, that our friends made for us) and sat at the computer.  I was feeling rather badly that Danny wasn’t here to enjoy the tart with me because it was hands down the best chocolate tart I had ever had in my life.

“Chocolate tart is awaiting you!!  It is off the charts!!”  I texted.

And then I received a text back……

“I am waiting for YOU!!”

WHAT?!??!  Did this mean Danny was HOME??

Yes, he was home.  He was waiting for me in the bedroom……………

I nearly died before I got down our hallway.

A little challenge for the week:  Surprise your spouse.  πŸ™‚  There is nothing quite like it.

(I hope you don’t mind little posts like this from time to time.  I’m all for making that awesome part of marriage as vibrant and as fun as can be. πŸ™‚

Any ideas for how to surprise your spouse?  Or have you been surprised before??  Do you dare share? I’m sure most of us need as many fun ideas as we can get.  πŸ™‚

If nothing else, this definitely made me smile

And I know this isn't the focus of the piece but.. I really want to try some of that pie!

Danny (as in my hubby) leaves me love notes-in my drawers, pockets, clostes, mirrors. He makes me feel so special and loved. It's fun surprising each other with words of kindness and love.

This is awesome. (Is Danny cringing at all??) πŸ™‚ Sex is such a fun, sacred, intimate, passionate part of marriage and I LOVE it! haha! I'm all about it. It keeps us closer as a couple, it keeps us wanting each other more, and it keeps us vulnerable – to giving and taking love. Oh man. It's the best. πŸ™‚

Oh, I wonder if Danny is DYING!! (You have mentioned he's more private about that kind of thing than you!:) My husband has yet to surprise me, but I think that would be AWESOME! I have done a few things here and there, because like the Rik (the commenter before me) I LOVE IT! Everything about intimacy and keeping the spark there. I love that you write about it so tastefully…your blogs about this kind of thing are always so well-written and not ever too much. I have surprised my husband a few times. We like to play games and I've quickly learned how to turn everything into "strip" something. It was not necessarily something that appealed to me, but oh my it can be fun. Strip Farkle (take an item of clothing off every time you Farkle), strip poker (obvious…but also bet intimate acts…that's really fun) You can make up you're own rules. Plus, if you're planning the surprise you can make sure to put on a few extra pieces of jewelery and other accessories so you're least likely to be the first one undressed!:)It usually makes for a great evening full of laughter and lots of heat! πŸ™‚

Oh, I miss doing stuff like this. Once you have kids (we have four–ages 7.5 to 12 months) it's harder to do because you kind of have to do it kind of sneaky-like–which can also be fun, but a bit stressful. Especially when you live in a tiny apartment like we do…My husband and I are always talking about the dream house we'll have some day and how we'll put the master suite far, far away from our children's bedrooms. I can't wait!

So I was inspired by a different post to really really boost my self-esteem. I officially made Wednesdays my "cute butt day" (a friend came up with that phrase in High School). Basically I just make sure I look fabulous all day and then I wear a sexy outfit to bed. Originally I only started this for myself but it has been great thing for our marriage too. πŸ˜‰

Being LDS it has been kinda difficult to justify not wearing garments for the whole night… but it has made a HUGE difference in my self-esteem and marriage. It adds a nice twist to the week and is a great surprise for my Hubby when he forgets it is Wednesday.

I kinda surprised both of us this week! We were watching "America's Got Talent" (guilty pleasure!), and it ended with someone singing (poorly) Rick James's "Give It To Me." Silly song, but a fun beat! We decided to turn off the TV and go to bed–it was getting late. When my husband was in the bathroom, I queued up "Give It To Me" on my phone (thank you, YouTube!!), and was dancing to it when he came out. He got in bed and watched me, laughing, loving it. The song is silly, sexy, and gross all at the same time, and I dunno what came over me, but I started doing a little strip tease! I was being silly, but totally my sexy, confident self. Only my husband could appreciate my true, goofy self!!! I'd never done ANYTHING like that before, and it was FUN! I LOVE that I can be that free in front of him, but behind closed doors. We had a lot of fun once I got in bed. πŸ˜‰ By the way, I got so tired of hanging around the house in my schlubby (but comfortable) PJ pants and t-shirt. (Even a sexy, thin t-shirt.) I recently purchased a couple of CUTE sundresses–one from Victoria's Secret, another from the beach. You know–thin, cheap material, and SUPER low cut. Nothing I'd ever wear in public. But now I lounge around the house in them–still very comfortable, but I feel sooooo much more sexy! My husband loves the idea so much, he's now buying my cheap sundresses from festivals and shops–it's so fun! Not as silly and uncomfy as sex shop costumes and lingerie. Super fun!!!
