Oxfords! Yes, Please.

All the 3 year-olds I know here in Brooklyn have cooler clothes than I do.  And they’re all wearing oxfords.

I’ve been eyeing oxfords ever since I found out about Church’s.  But now you can get women’s oxfords just about anywhere and they come in so many varieties that it would be so hard to choose just one.

My friend Ashley from Two Tiny Kitchens tipped me off to several…

Have you guys seen the Oxfords at Cole Haan?
Holy crud.  They are so, so great.  (They have many other colors to choose from, too.)

-And come on.  Oxfords & bows?  SOOO cute.
-You already know I love anything from this store, so that naturally includes these.
These summery oxfords would be so cute with skirts or shorts.
-Just add some neutral or denim and you’re good to go
-And these hot little numbers would be so rad (thx, Linsey!)
Would you wear them?
I swear if you could see these little girls in their dresses and oxfords, you’d be sold.

I would like to say that I am generally disappointed that clothes and shoes for kids are often more colourful, creative and beautiful than those for adults! How many times I have seen coats, shoes or skirts that were exactly what I wanted but they are only for 8 year-olds, 14 year olds… I have a friend who is from Equator and she is so small that often whe can wear the 14 year old ones… and the adults too! She is so lucky!

I love the first metallic ones–I could totally channel a three year old in these 🙂

Um yea. So thanks for that. Just ordered the Nordstrom pair for in-store pick-up and have given my husband an assignment for his drive home from work. 😉

Got them! LOVE them! To the Anon below me: They are not as dramatic as you would think. They are not clunky at all. Remind me of ballet shoes. You could wear them with anything, really.

My girlfriend and I are slipping away tomorrow for an over-nighter in Austin and an Ingrid Michaelson concert! SO excited to wear my new shoes!!!!!!

I am style challenged. Love the shoes, but how exactly would you wear them? Socks? Tights? Barefoot? Coordinate the color or not? Seriously, this is why I can never do new styles. I have no idea what to pair them with.

Good question. You can wear them with skinny jeans – you can even slightly roll them up – and have some cute socks showing (i.e. striped socks). You can wear with opague tights and dresses. Or for summer/spring, no tights shorter socks/knee socks or no socks.
I'll see if I can post a few photos of how to wear them to give you a better idea.

I have been wearing the Miltie oxford from Steve Madden for about a year and a half now and I constantly get compliments. I love them and am dying for another pair of oxford shoes, I love all the colorful ones that are available now.

I am obsessed with the Cole Haan oxfords you posted – especially the tan/yellow. i saw them on a blog recently and they are so pretty!

I bought these for spring/summer instead, a pair of coral/cognac sperrys:

I got them in the mail yesterday and they are wonderful 🙂

Oxfords – yea. I was in the car at a traffic light today and watched an elegantly dressed older gentleman (wearing a dark suit in 85f temps today) walking down Michigan Ave. Couldn't keep my eyes off him because with all the business casual wear, I seldom see beautiful suits on men anymore. Then I saw it – he was wearing lavender suede oxfords. Absolutely fantastic! I was fumbling for my camera phone when the light changed. Drat.

Nope I wouldn't wear them, but I could use a lot of help in the in style department.
