Here are some more of my favorite scenes from a book I bought for Danny called New York Finger Paintings, by Jorge Colombo...
Brooklyn Bridge Park without seeing a full blown wedding shoot in session. And I don't blame them for all going there. This park is my all time favorite spot in New York (do not miss coming here if you visit New York! :) The views are the best you'd ever see (and they show free movies there in the summer). You get to eat at Grimaldi's or Calexico (or get some of my favorite cookies & hot chocolate at Jacques Torres.) And in addition to the skyline & the bridges, you get to see the quinceaneras entourages also coming for photo shoots. Oh, my. Those are unreal. You have not seen satin and updos and limos like this until you've seen a Brooklyn quinceanera.
Halal chicken (warning: the line may be 30 deep at all hours of the night). And some killer street tacos (only open 9:00 pm - 5:00 am). And some killer Belgian waffles (see link for truck locations).
Do these pictures invoke any memories for you?
(See a previous "Living in New York" post like this one here.)
Have a great day!
P.S. There is a sample sale in NYC starting today for Soia & Kyo. They carry a huge line of coats that I've been impressed with. The thing is, they are just really heavy-duty. And they're made in Canada. I just trust the Canadians when it comes to coats :) I bought one for this winter & I've been really pleased with it. March 15-18, Chelsea Market, Th/F: 10-9 pm, S/S: 10-7 pm.
