Happy St. Patrick's Day, from the Green Lady

Every city has some memorable people.  One person you can't miss in New York is known as "The Green Lady."  I first saw her featured in New York Magazine and then later saw her twice, in person, as she now lives in Carroll Gardens (BK).  Her name is Elizabeth Sweetheart and she wears all green from head to toe - all the time.  She's been wearing green for 15 years.  I thought today she could help wish us all a fun St. Patrick's Day.

Will you guys be doing anything special for St. Patrick's Day?  Danny & I have a photo shoot in our home this weekend.  Yikes!  Time to clean up our little home.  We'll show you some pictures of it soon.  :)

AND....

A few love announcements for the weekend:

-Do you have any friends who have secret blogs???  Apparently I did.  But she's going to be on the Martha Stewart Show so the cat's out of the bag.  The blog is called Two Tiny Kitchens, written by two sisters (one in Brooklyn & one in Japan).  They post delicious recipes from their tiny kitchens & they have built up quite a following.  And, I just adore the design of their brand new site (done by Linsey Laidlaw).

-I am dying to try The Soft Serve Fruit Co. (on UES + near Union Sq.).....it looks delicious.  And it is made only of fruit - and a touch of cane sugar.  Great for us gluten free/dairy free ones.  And here's a recipe for making your own.  (Danny & I love making this.)

-This got named by NY Magazine as the #1 place for a first date in NYC.  I have been wanting to check it out!  They show nostalgic movies and serve you food during the film.

-Love this hairstyle from Fashion Week & this one, too.  (I officially suck at doing crown braids, btw.  haha.  We'll see if I can pull these ones off.)

-I can't stop thinking about these clocks.  I really, really want one.

-I must track down this children's book.....

-This art project with kids would be so fun.

-And my FAVORITE thing to share with you today:  this wonderful article about marriage.  It is so worth reading & it will have you clapping.  Note: the title is misleading.  :)  [Thank you to Em & Merilee & Alison Rae for passing along.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

  4. I knew you'd love it! Don't you just want to wrap it up and give it to everyone you love? Inasmuch as you can do that with an essay?

  7. We love the green lady! The weird part is how normal and nice she is apart from the green. I want to go to the cinema, double date?

  9. I love Nitehawk Cinema! I went there not too long ago for a screening of The Neverending Story. We had a delicious brunch to eat while watching the movie and also had a sighting of Questlove in the front row. If Questlove is going to see movies there then you know the place is awesome.
