Why I Blog

Today, I cannot tell you how excited I am.  Something really cool happened to me… I was asked to write a piece for Blogstar, because they like my blog!  (Talk about major happy face here in the Kofoed household.)  If you don’t know about this website by Sarah Bryden Brown, you really, really should check it out.  It’s a resource for Bloggers…but like the best one I’ve ever come across.  (I need to devour every word of it.)  Blogstar has partnered with Kirsty (founded by Design Mom) and together they are doing amazing things for the blogging community (which I am falling in love with more and more as the days go by.)

So back to my excitement…. Blogstar has a regular series called “My Life as a Blog” and it’s a behind the scenes look at a blogger’s life. Anyone who reads blogs would enjoy this!  I loved reading some personal details about some of my favorite bloggers such as Oh Happy Day, Say Yes to Hoboken, & sfgirlbybay.]  Well…… today Blogstar launched a little story about why I blog.  I feel so honored.  I hope you will check it out.  This is my first writing piece outside of my blog…(breathe, breathe!)

Hope you all are feeling prepared for Thanksgiving!  (I am not.  Time to get crackin’ for a sweet little Thanksgiving in Brooklyn.)

A few love announcements:

Brinca Dada (the modern dollhouses from my Gift Guide) is now offering a 10% discount to all readers from this blog!  Sweet!  To get the discount, you must write confab@brincadada.com with the items you want to order + reference {A Blog About Love}.

I just got my non-social-media-saavy self in full gear and opened a Twitter account!  Follow me here.  I even have some tweets waiting for you.

-Literally cannot wait to make these pumpkin spice lattes (with coconut milk, for me…I don’t eat dairy.)

-A collection of these graphic gold painted jars (via sfgirlbybay) would be on my Thanksgiving table if I could pull it off (I love the graphic lines combined with the industrial glassware).  And a whole collection of them would stay on a shelf in my living room afterwards.  I am obsessed with gold lately & my living room could use a sparkle.

-Here’s one of our favorite recipes from 2011 – and it’s PERFECT for a Thanksgiving side.

-I took this herb dip to Thanksgiving one year, with a crudite platter, and EVERYONE wanted the recipe.

-I am addicted to cozy blankets & feel inspired by these.

-I decided I really need to go for a proper “afternoon tea” at this place in NY.  Maybe for my 35th birthday, which is just around the corner.

-This modern backyard makes me want to get chickens.

-I think I need to get some pink pants now.

-Love this DIY notebook tee for little boys (perfect for an office supply nut like me.)

-My delayed IVF plans are in the works and I couldn’t be happier about it.

-Danny’s gift guide should be up later this week!

Can you talk about what you decided to do as a last effort before IVF? I'm on my last round of Clomid (I did it back in February but had a miscarriage) before I have to see a specialist. And this is my week to "make a baby" but an old kidney stone decided to start moving Monday so I'm not sure this baby making week will happen and I think I'll be going to that specialist in December. So, I was just curious to see what could have made you put off IVF after already starting the process. But, it's okay if you don't want to talk about it.
