We Love Having You Here

A Blog About Love, We Love Having You Here

To my dear readers,
I just want to say thank you to each and every one of you reading this blog.
Today it is just 1 month old!  And I am just amazed at what has happened in 4 weeks.
I send the most sincere thanks to all of you who have shared this blog with your friends, sisters, mothers, daughters, boyfriends, husbands and even our nephews (we are now the butt of many jokes amongst our 7 older nephews in Utah.  haha.  But we hope in a few years when they are dating and newly married that they’ll be quite interested in what we have to say 🙂

And, thanks from the bottom of my heart to those of you who have shared a word about us on your own blogs (wow, we truly feel honored)!  You have sent so many new readers our way.  It means so much as there is nothing more we want to do than share this message of hope far and wide.  So many lives are already feeling inspired.  Thanks a million for helping us in this effort.

I have actually been seeking a way to share this message for years.  I knew a long time ago that the life changing stuff I had learned was not just for me in my living room.  I knew I had to share it.  It is a miracle to me that little by little, I was able to find the words to do so.  But, I was only reaching people within my own circle (friends, neighbors, coworkers).   I’ve thought so much about changing my career and trying to figure out what I could do to reach more people (how? how? how?)…..and finally I realized I can blog.
I think about you all each day with the fullest heart – I really do!  I hope that what I write will find those who are seeking guidance, encouragement or inspiration or who need to be uplifted in any way.

My heart just about bursts when I receive a comment or email from one of you, letting me know that this is touching you in some way.  You make me smile as I am falling asleep.  You inspire me to keep writing & putting my heart & soul into this.  I don’t even need an alarm anymore because my body wakes me up at 5 am to check for your messages.  🙂  haha.  And, wow, some of your comments are blowing my mind.  You are amazing men & women with amazing stories to tell.  I’m glad that whoever reads here can see your comments and find additional strength.  (And know that I am working on responding to all of you!)

You all bring me so much joy, I can hardly explain.
I feel so connected to all of you as I write, as I know we are all in this together.
Much love,

Mara Kofoed

P.S.  A bit of inspiration for today….
A good friend of ours who is home bound with a chronic illness sent this along one day, and it has stuck with me.  I thought I would share it, in case you ever look in the mirror and feel unhappy or in case you find yourself in a less than ideal circumstance.  On this day, this is reminding me, as well, to not worry.  To feel happy for my life.  To feel grateful even though sometimes things don’t turn out the way I hope (like finding out I’m not pregnant after being four days late).
A woman had cancer and lost all but 3 hairs on her head.  So she said,
“Well, I have three hairs, I think I’ll make a braid today.”

The next morning, she saw she was down to two hairs, and she said,
“Today I’ll try parting it down the middle.”

The next day, she was down to one hair.  And she said,
“Perfect, I was in the mood for a ponytail.”

The next morning, she saw she no longer had any hair.  And she said,
“Oh, good, I don’t have to fix my hair today.” 🙂

May we all be full of more hope, greater love, more gratitude for what we have, and more happiness, no matter what we are facing.  I know there is no greater joy than to feel your own strength & power, in our moments of trial.

Your blog has been a godsend for me in the past month. After years of fertility issues, my marriage ended and I was left with a lot of angst, terror, nausea and worry. You both have helped restore my faith that I will be fine. For this, I am forever grateful.

I have enjoyed reading your blog so much! Thank you for sharing your experiences and for being so sincere. You and your husband went through a hard challenge, but your experience is a testament that everything happens for a reason and that always, always, there is a light at the end of a tunnel that can shine brighter than any light has before.

And I too have been inspired by both of you. Beautiful writers! Thank you for being so honest and putting it all out there. One of the things on my bucket list is to live in NYC someday, so your pictures are inspiring in that way, too. I'm glad I found this blog 🙂

Thank you so much for your blog. Your post about how to have a happy marriage is now hanging on the mirror in my master bathroom for my husband and I to read each day. You're awe inspiring.

I found your blog via DesignMom and have been checking daily since! I have had a few minor trials lately and I feel like your attitude is what I'm reaching for. I tell all my friends about this new inspiring blog, and I think it's exactly what we need back here in Western LDS College culture. You probably know how it is. 🙂 Thanks for the perspective on life and marriage!
