We went to Storm King last weekend. It was Danny's first time... He LOVED it. I heard him say something like, "This feels like heaven." It really was magnificent that day. It could not have been a better autumn day. On top of that, we got to spend time with some of our dear friends.See here for more photos...
Just made my homemade applesauce. The apartment just smells like fall.
And here is the chili I am entering into the cook-off tmw. It's my favorite kale recipe. I'll need to just make it nice and thick so it can pass as a chili. Wish me luck!

Mara, I love your blog. You might not remember me, but I am one of Angie's friends that stayed with you during a girls trip to the Big Apple. You were so sweet and fun and such a great hostess! I really enjoyed listening to the stories and life lessons you shared then, and it is fun to get to read more on this blog! I was pregnant at the time and a few months later I had a baby girl and named her...Mara!! I hope you don't mind that I totally stole your name. I loved the name Mara - it was so original and I had such a positive association with it because of you. And to think that you named your daughter Mara... that just made me melt. I think your daughter will be very happy with it. I've always love it :)
